The Parish Council would like to reinstate a “Speed watch” team. This will be in collaboration with Cressing Parish Council and Silver End Parish Council. To do this we need volunteers.

ECC keeps records of Road Traffic Accidents and use these to decide priorities for spending. We all know of accidents that have occurred over the years but the recording system used by ECC only seems to identify accidents if someone is injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The Parish Council are aware of many more accidents than are officially recorded. Having a “Speed watch” team would mean we could keep records of speeding vehicles and report them to the police – which will mean they get an official letter asking them to reduce their speed.
